Large parrots, cockatoos: more than 50 years

Which parrots have talents to repeat human speech?

However, no parrot can be sure to really learn to "speak"

One or two?

Parrots like company, they are few times alone in nature. Sometimes a person cannot fully replace a partner with a parrot, even if he is often at home and devotes a lot of time to it. Therefore, in any case, it is better to have two than one parrot. At the same time, both parrots should be of the same species, because each species has its own peculiarities and not all species are tolerated.
If you don't want chicks, buy two parrots of the same sex so that you don't have to take their eggs all the time. It is recommended to buy two males, because they are usually better tolerated and have less need to bite wood (as well as furniture) than females.

In nature, the claws are sharpened when a parrot sits and walks on the rough bark of a tree, so they stay short. However, if the parrot sits only in a cage on smooth perches, it may grow long claws that will interfere with it. Then you need to start doing something about it. O
I therefore recommend replacing at least some of the perches in the cage with the rougher branches of the tree
v, respectively wrap the poles with sandblasted cardboard or fine sandpaper. It is much more pleasant for a parrot than when you grab it in your hand and cut its claws.
